Meet Michelle Shaughnessy, NP
Michelle was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and moved to Arizona in 1990. She went to Nursing School and received her RN license in 2004. Michelle predominately worked as an Emergency Room Nurse for most of her career, but her interest in dermatology began when she worked in a medical spa office practicing cosmetic dermatology. Michelle made the decision to go back to school to Grand Canyon University and graduated with her Master’s in Nursing for Family Nurse Practitioner. During her schooling, Michelle was able to train with different dermatology offices in the valley and acquired a one-year fellowship working in a medical dermatology office where she found her true desire to be treating, educating, and diagnosing patients skin disorders and skin cancers. Michelle has now had the opportunity to further her training in medical dermatology alongside Dr. Andrew Racette at Omni Dermatology.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, playing board games, and traveling. Michelle is a soon to be a 1st time grandma, so that will be where she is when out of the office!
